With social media becoming the new up and coming thing we often don’t think of email marketing as a thing anymore. Right? It is outdated and old school when it comes to marketing… But IT WORKS! So how can you effectively use email marketing?
First you have to know what email marketing actually is. Have you ever gone to a site that had a pop up that said “enter your email” or some formation of that? By entering your email, that leads to direct marketing to you. You have obviously entered your email because you think that the prompt directly relates to you or something that interests you.
While this is similar to social media marketing in the sense that it is a direct form of marketing, email marketing has the opportunity to track the return of investment where as you just pray for the best for social media marketing.
Maybe you will pay for the internet domain to house your actual email, but more than likely sending out your bulk emails will not cost a thing to you… Except for time, but you can live with that to make a few dollars, right?
You know that forward button? Yeah… If your consumer finds that it is necessary for them to forward it to someone that they believe would be interested in the email that they received from you, they will just forward the email. This email says exactly what you want it to say, so there is no misconstrued wording.
You can monitor your “open” rates, your “click” rates, and how many emails that you send out. You work mainly from a database that will have rich knowledge of your niche. For example, if you sell hair products, you will more than likely send emails to people that have purchased items like or usually buy what you sell.
For those of you that care about our earth and the trees, you will definitely save on paper. If you have decided to go with an email campaign, you will not only save trees, you will save money as well!
Your emails… Your personality! You can leave your personality all over your emails. This is your chance to make a personal connection with your consumer.
Words like “free” and “As seen on tv” are no-no words. They seem sketchy.. Spammy… They may have a high click rate, but more than likely they were overused and not used appropriately.
